Remembrance Sunday

Today, Sunday 9 November, is Remembrance Sunday.
Last night whilst on the phone to my Husband (who was on nights) we decided that as he may not go to church if he has a bad night I could go to the Church of which my friend is the Incumbent Priest, it's a lovely church, high church, you know "Bells and Smells" it gives you a sense of where you really are!
We set off at 8.20am as the journey is a good hour and twenty minutes and I never speed!!! (if I see a police car or camera)
We arrived in good time, (No police cars or cameras) and take our seats near the front of the church, both Beth and Lit'lun have come with me, which is nice as Beth usually gets dragged kicking and screaming on high days and holidays! He didn't know we were coming and as he walks through before the service he spots us and comes over to say a quick hello.
The service is lovely, incense and all then after the Eucharist we move to the memorial for the laying of wreaths and two minutes silence to remember those who died fighting for this, our country, and paid the ultimate price.............
..
..
After the service we went to the church hall and had a cup of tea and chatted to some of the members of the church, several of them remembered us from our last visits.
Then our friend asked if we would help him to put one of the alters back as it had been moved for the service, this done we went round to the rectory for another cup of tea and a catch up on what has happened since we last spoke.
On the way home I had to stop for a McDonald's!! Yes I know... but a man of the cloth put the idea into the heads of my girls and once they start you might as well do it!
