The trouble with puppies is they chew, they also eat anything and everything that they can fit in their mouth! True fact!
This afternoon I caught Rafi eating a plant, on further investigation it turned out to be elephants ears also known as Bergina I think. After asking on facebook if this could be a problem I decided to call our vets who told me to bring Rafi in.
All the way there I could feel panic, we have only just lost our beautiful Skye dog, and now we are going to loose this bundle of puppiness.
The vets decided it would be best to keep him in over night for observation meaning I went home without him. Poor boy must be so confused.
Tomorrow can't come soon enough.
It's my life, as I see it. It's my opinions, my thoughts, and my experiences. The content has changed over the years as my live has changed. The 40 something EMT Wife and mother, is now a Wife and Search Technician with Search Dogs Sussex and as for the age? Does that even matter!

Tonsillitis and a chill
Today I have been sent home from work! Maybe shouldn't have even gone in to start with! It feels as if I have a throat full of razor blades, I can barely speak and I have all the symptoms of a chill, with I high temp, sneezes and all the other delights that accompany it. If I booked sick I would have got into trouble, for a job that deals with sick people all the time they are not very accommodating towards their own staff when we inadvertently catch something from our patients! Which is why I went in to start with, ahh well I wonder what punishment I will receive for being ill this time?

I'm so Dizzy my head is spinning.....
Today I had 5 dizzy spells at work.
The first one and the fourth one were scary, my vision went like it does if I have too much to drink and I felt what I can only describe as a drawing in/back sensation very odd and uncomfortable.
If I get any more I'll be forced to go see the GP. Please don't get any more, please don't get any more. please......

Worry

Today I took my APH to the vet in the knowledge that I wouldn't be bringing her home again, I knew she had come to a point where she would have to be put down. I brought her home!!! The vet gave her two injections, one an anti inflammatory pain killer the other some antibiotics. She then gave her some water just under the skin (sub cut) to help with the dehydration. She has 48 hours to start to perk up. The vet also gave me some food for her, so as well as her usual food she has this to try, its high in protein and fat to try and boost her calories and get her back on track. Please let it work.

A&E

After all the excitement of the last few days my husband went back to work Monday to his fire service job.
Over the weekend it was extremely hot, he had to wear quite a few layers of heavy clothing and hadn't had enough to drink, back at work he had two prolonged bouts of hard physical work wearing full fire fighting kit in the extremely high temperatures we are having at the moment, and again he hadn't had enough to drink!
During the night he woke me up feeling extremely unwell, muscle cramps, joint aches head ache and several other symptoms. I rang the out of hours doctors but changed my mind half way through the conversation and decided to take him up to the casualty department of the hospital.
Once there he saw a triage nurse who took him through to the majors area of the A&E unit, where he was seen by a doctor. We were there for about 5 hours in total, but came away with some antibiotics as he has managed to get a kidney infection probably from not drinking enough fluids in this heat!
My poor husband is not feeling at all well.
