On my way home from work today I got stuck in very slow moving traffic going through a village that was having its firework display. People were all over the place some even walking in the middle of the road. A huge fire was visible and I could hear excited children laughing even through the closed windows. I was glad this village was miles away from my house!
Unfortunately when I eventually arrived home there were three separate displays with my house at a point somewhere in the middle. I opened the front door and immediately saw the dog panting fast, ears flat to the side of her head, pacing up and down the kitchen, I turned the radio on to drown out some of the loud bangs, but she was already too stressed to settle down. I will have to see if I can get her something stronger than the DAP to keep her chilled out, this year she seems more anxious than she has in the past, maybe the loss of our Jack Russell has had an effect!
