Lunch thief
Today was one of those days which is more if a roller coaster than anything else. To start with we got a team call out at about 3am due to this and the fact I had got in after midnight, I managed to over sleep by half an hour. Doh! When I arrived at the field, the horse had decided to clamber in to the adjoining paddock and stand with her friend, meaning I had to get her back through and sort out the fencing. Double Doh!
At 11am I set off with Rafi to Sussex County dog training for his first session of 1 to 1's we are going to see if we can get him used to being in dog company without him being overbearing and trying to pull their tail fur out... (I have no idea why!) The session went really well and this evening we managed to put some of what we had learned into practice on our short walk. Our next session is next week but before then I intend to go to places where we can practice, he also has his first pool swim booked in for tomorrow.
..But I digress, cut back to this afternoon, lunchtime to be precise, my husband had decided to take a pack up and do a quick bird watch at Lavington common, he parked the car and off he went, when he ggot back to the car someone had smashed the back window and passenger window and stolen two jackets a bottle of orange tango and half a tub of pringles(!!) He called me then called the police. When I arrived at the car park there was evidence of two further break ins and a couple who came over and spoke to us said they had had their car broken into just down the road earlier that week.
For the sake of 2 jackets and my husbands lunch, they caused so much damage and trouble!
I hope they choked on the pringles!

Panic stations
My horse doesn't sleep laying down very much and when she does she is usually up and awake as soon as I get to the the gate!
Today however she was laying flat out and as still as can be right until I was in the paddock with her I called her name twice before she responded and even then she had the look of a horse which had possibly had a stroke! Her ear was flicked inside out and her face was stiff and strange. It took a few minutes for her to regain some form of normality, talk about scaring me half to death!

Deflated
Today the boy managed to pop his favorite toy, at first he seemed a bit put out as he likes to actually roll over it and now he can't, but then he discovered he could actually carry it around with him. That was a whole new 'ball game!'
Unless he completely trashes it, he can keep tha burst one, I shall however have to get him another one as watching him play with it makes everyone smile.

Nightmare before Christmas.
The other night I had a nightmare, I dreamed I was having a heart attack, I could feel the pain and everything, I woke up and couldn't get my breath which made me panic even more desperately trying to get a deep breath....Then, I really woke up! The whole episode had been a dream, including the bit where I thought I had woken up! This has never happened to me before, the panic and fear were so great and so real.
I have decided that I need to loose weight and also get a bit fitter, maybe this nightmare was the WAKE UP call I needed.
At Christmas I shall eat drink and be merry but up to then and after then I shall be swimming and going to the gym and eating more sensibly than I have been!

Farewell to a friend
You taught me how to protect myself whilst at work, when confronted by a violent patient.
I will always be grateful.
Rest In Peace my friend.

Pets
That sick feeling you get when you think that one of your pets is going to die! Hopeless panic, because its 10:00 PM at night and a vet isn't going to want to be called out for a hamster even if part of your world does revolve around it, and you have no idea what to do to save it!
That was me last night when my huge fur-ball of a hamster decided to almost die.
He was absolutely boiling hot gasping for breath, posturing and grey round his mouth and nose where he is normally white. I took him outside where it was cooler massaged both sides of his neck in case he had something stuck in his throat, even though I couldn't feel anything, then I blew on him and dripped some water across his mouth. After about half an hour he started to come round. for the rest of the night he was staggering but didn't look in pain. This morning he was in his nest where he stayed even when I called him, he usually comes up to the side when I call him!
This evening he is climbing his cage, eating food and drinking a lot
! no staggering and back to his normal self, I am so glad, he is such a quirky little thing and I love him.

soggy horses
Today was my first day off since Saturday, I went down to see my two lovely soggy horses, they seem to be getting on much better now thank goodness. I gave them a short feed today too, as its been wet and cold for a few days. I fed them in the field , in separate corners and as soon as they were finished I picked up the bowls before they had the chance to eat out of each others.
Actually they didn't make any moves towards each others bowls they just wandered off to eat the grass again.
I then went down to pick my car up from the garage, now this was a bit of an ouch moment as it cost twice what I thought it would, the break calliper had stuck on or something and the breaks were then metal on metal! I am sure this means something to somebody, it just doesn't to me. That said my Mechanic is the best one in the county, so I know I haven't been conned and I also know that the job was done well.
The Jimmy Saville news story is on going today with more and more people coming forward or being found, this is just so utterly shocking that some one with such celebrity status who did so much fund raising for kids should turn out to be such a sexual predator to teenage girls.
