It's my life, as I see it. It's my opinions, my thoughts, and my experiences. The content has changed over the years as my live has changed. The 40 something EMT Wife and mother, is now a Wife and Search Technician with Search Dogs Sussex and as for the age? Does that even matter!

busy day
Monday I again got up early, today the Blonde bird is doing the horses though so at least I don't have to do that first!
I drove to the ambulance service HQ where the paramedic entrance exams were taking place.
There were quite a few of us so we were split into two groups, the group I was in went to the clinical training rooms to go one by one to have their basic life support test (CPR), I was so nervous, that although I think the practical went ok I couldn't think of all the answers to one of the questions.
After this I had to do an online literacy and numeracy exam, ohh boy! my maths is pants I will be amazed if I get more than 3 right so I think I have failed that one too! Then it was the clinical paper, well! some of the questions were very ambiguous and others were on things you really don't use in the job, who the hell are they after to be paramedics??? certainly not your average Technician, everyone was shocked at how hard it all was.
I drove home.
Today is my Lovely husbands Birthday, but I won't see him as I how have to get ready for a night shift but he is on days and wont get home until after I have left for work, very unfair.
At work we were almost immediately sent on cover then just moved from cover point to cover point, eventually we got a job, it was to transport a 12 year old boy with a terminal brain tumor, newly diagnosed, from a hospital 25 miles from our base to a hospital in the heart of London, fortunately, a medical team and his mum were to be travelling with us which meant I travelled in the cab, and didn't have to sit watching monitors waiting for something awful to happen (which is what most people do when there are monitors!)
Fortunately we got him to the hospital with no problems, then waited around for the medical team to return to the ambulance so that we could return them to their hospital and go back to base for our meal break.
By the time we got back to base it was half past one, we were both starving and I was thirsty as I had managed to leave my bottle of lime juice on the table and had no drink with me on the ambulance!
