Having left my patient in the care of the nursing staff at the hospital the other day, I went to get some more blankets to put on the ambulance when I saw and heard two young men in their twenties sat with an elderly man who was laying on the hospital bed looking very unwell. The elderly man had obviously just apologised for something, maybe holding them up or taking them away from what they had been doing before they had come to his bedside, what I heard was.."That's what friends are for Bob," they may have said more but it was just such a nice thing to hear from two young men that weren't related to him. Sometimes I wonder who my friends are, and sometimes I wonder if my friends know just how much they mean to me... I hope they do. "That's what friends are for Bob!"
