It was only Sunday night that I was on a night shift for another of my crew mates so coming back to work my own shifts on Tuesday and Wednesday seemed rather a quick turn around! The two days I have just completed have been dominated by self harm and suicide attempts, with a record number for me yesterday of 3 suicide attempts in one shift! Two of these people had also tried on the previous day. Almost every job we went to we had the police there already, (good job too in the case of one who was using a shiny new Stanley knife!) To be honest I'm not sure whether the Stanley knife or the Glock carried by the armed policeman was more scary! Still we all lived happily ever after! Today I start my two nights, I am never very eager to go in for nights I am too fond of my bed and a good nights sleep, but we all go in hoping for a good shift, and ultimately we are all disappointed by the end of it, but by then its too late!
